InDesign is probably the easiest program with the least steps in order to add the reflection/ wet floor look to an image or text
Step 1 – Create a New Document (Ctrl/Cmd N) and go to File > Place (or Ctrl/Cmd D) and select the image you would like to add a reflection to and place it on the document.
Step 2 – Now let’s duplicate the image and position it under the first image:
Alt/Opt + click on the image and drag the duplicate below the original image.
Then go to Object > Transform > Flip Vertical.
Step 3- We will use the gradient feather to fade the image as a reflection:
on the Menu go to Object > Effects > Gradient Feather.
(make sure you have the reflected image selected)
put the check in preview and change the angle to -90.
The diamond above the gradient will allow you to control the feathering of the image
as seen here.
Step 4 – adjust the opacity to finish off the reflection.
on the Control panel (below the menu) click were it says 100%
.
and adjust the opacity to a lower value to make the image less opaque.
And that is it!
Here is my result:
Thanks great tut, I was wondering How you did that in Indesign.
Now I don’t have to switch to photoshop to make a reflection
